Atlanta Motorized Screens is an authorized MagnaTrack™ dealer installing motorized retractable porch screens and patio screens across Dawsonville and all of Dawson County, from the lake homes of Chestatee, Gold Creek, and Harbour Ridge on the north end of Lake Lanier to the mountain lots of Big Canoe, Sassafras Mountain, and Burnt Mountain, the communities of Juno, Silver City, Afton, Amicalola, and Dougherty, and the new neighborhoods along GA 400, Dawson Forest Road, and Highway 53. Dawsonville is where the lake meets the mountains, home of the Pool Room, the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, Burt's Farm, Atlanta Motorsports Park, and the trailhead to Amicalola Falls, and every house up here was bought for the porch and the view. The problem is how few evenings a year that porch actually gets used:
A motorized retractable screen fixes all five, and when the evening is perfect, it disappears into its housing at the touch of a button. Every project starts with a free in-home consultation and is quoted line by line.
Which Dawson County porches do they work on? All of them. Here is what each one calls for.
The north end of Lake Lanier is Dawson County, and Chestatee, Chestatee Point, Gold Creek, Crown Pointe at Gold Creek, Harbour Ridge, Hatteras on Lanier, Tuscany on Lanier, Biscayne at Lanier, Lanier Hills, Holts Landing, and the homes off War Hill Park Road, Dawson Forest Road, and Thompson Road down to the water were bought for the lake. The water sends the bugs up at dusk, the sunset glare straight across the porch, and the storms over the ridge with no warning.

Big Canoe, Sassafras Mountain, Burnt Mountain Estates, Amicalola Chase, Amicalola Woods, Etowah Preserve, Black Mill Preserve, the Gates of Etowah, Sweetwater Preserve, and the mountain lots toward Amicalola Falls, Juno, Afton, and the Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area were built for the long view: deep covered porches, stone fireplaces, and a screened room that was supposed to be the main room of the house from April to November. Ridge-top porches catch the most wind in the county and the full afternoon sun.

The new builds, townhomes, and swim and tennis neighborhoods along GA 400, Highway 53, Dawson Forest Road, and Lumpkin Campground Road, including Dawson Pointe, Dawson Grove, Dawson Trace, the Enclave at Dawson Forest, Creekstone, Highland Pointe, Red Hawk Ridge, Savannah Trace, Kilough Forest, Thunder Ridge, and the lots around the Dawsonville Marketplace and the Premium Outlets, sit closer together than anything else in the county. Covered patios here are smaller, nearer the neighbors, and often face west into the evening sun.

Any covered opening up to 30 feet wide and 20 feet tall, on the house or off it.
Insect mesh toward the water, solar mesh toward the sunset. The view of Lanier stays exactly where it was.
The long covered porch with the long view, screened for bugs and wind and open again the moment the weather turns nice.
Solar mesh over the grill and dining area for glare control and shade, without walling off the yard.
Privacy mesh on the lot-line side, insect mesh toward the water. The pool house becomes a second living room.
Motorized pergola screens turn an open frame into a usable room. Tracks mount to the posts; the housing tucks under the beam.
Door up, screen down. Airflow without an audience, whether it is a tractor or a track car headed to Atlanta Motorsports Park.
Downtown Dawsonville, the Premium Outlets, and the Highway 53 patios that stay open through mosquito season and the first cold snap.
Dawson Forest pine pollen is some of the heaviest in the state. Screens down through March and April keep most of the yellow film off the furniture. Hose the mesh, not the cushions.
Insect mesh for the bugs off the lake, solar mesh for the sun. Either way, dinner on the porch in August without the spray and without the glare.
Press a button and the screens retract completely. Nothing between you and the leaves turning on Amicalola, or the Mountain Moonshine Festival weekend, or a pumpkin run to Burt's Farm and Uncle Shuck's.
Winter comes earlier up here. Clear vinyl seals the space and holds the heat from a patio heater or fireplace. The porch stays in service through January.

Yes, and ridge-top and lakefront porches see the strongest gusts in the county. MagnaTrack's magnetic track is designed to flex under a gust and pull itself back into place instead of tearing out, which is the usual failure on zipper-track screens. The manufacturer recommends raising standard screens above 60 mph; the Defender series is rated for 24/7 deployment in Category 5 winds. Solar mesh blocks up to 85% of wind and rain when extended. More on the MagnaTrack system page.
We can't speak for any individual association, but the system is built for architectural review: housings and tracks are powder-coated in any RAL color to match your trim, the profile is slim, and the screens disappear completely when retracted. We provide product drawings and color specs you can submit with your application.
Both. Most of Dawsonville's housing stock is established, and face-mount tracks retrofit onto nearly any existing covered porch, patio, or pergola. On a new build or a major renovation, the housing and tracks can be recessed into the ceiling and columns so nothing is visible when the screens are up. Worth raising with your builder early.
Every project is custom fabricated to your openings, so pricing depends on the number of openings, their size, the mesh you choose, and the controls. We measure in person, walk through the options with samples, and leave an itemized quote that includes materials and installation. The consultation is free, with no deposit and no obligation.
About six weeks from order to shipment, since each screen is built to your exact measurements. Most projects install in a single day once the screens arrive. We give you a real date when we quote.
